With a few more closures over the past week, our schedule is down to five outdoor farmers markets still open in the Chicago region: Grayslake, Green City Lincoln Park and West Loop, and The Lincoln Park Farmers Market on Saturday, and Lincoln Square Farmers Market on Tuesday.

The good news... There are now five indoor markets on the schedule: Logan Square and 61st Street in Chicago, and in the suburbs, St. Charles (Friday), Woodstock (Saturday), and The Dole in Crystal Lake (Sunday).

To give some idea of what awaits you, the photo has my haul from Green City Market Lincoln Park last Saturday (11/2). There are bacon and eggs from Finn's Ranch (Buchanan, Michigan); lettuce, Empire apples, tomatoes and onions from Nichols Farm & Orchard (Marengo, Illinois); French breakfast radishes from Kajers Greens (North Judson, Indiana); and bell peppers and carrots from Tomato Mountain (Brooklyn, Wisconsin). Even with a relatively small haul, I managed to hit all four of the Lake Michigan states.
