Industrial Hemp Advocates Host The Green Buffalo at Patagonia Fulton Market

There is a wide range of sustainable industrial uses for hemp plants. These are foremost among advocates who are working to unleash the economic potential of the nation's recently reborn hemp growing sector.

To help advance understanding of practical hemp uses, a showing of the film The Green Buffalo will be held at the Patagonia clothing store in Chicago's Fulton Market District on the evening of Wednesday, February 19. The movie, produced by Patagonia Films, is co-hosted by Illinois Hemp Growers Association (a Local Food Forum sponsor) and Think Hempology.

The film focuses on the use of hemp building materials and their role in creating a sustainable future. Here's is how the hosts describe the event:

"The next generation of builders is in high demand. Will we continue building with conventional materials? Or will we turn to better-performing, low-energy-input natural materials? On the plains of Minnesota, the Lower Sioux Indian Community already has the answer. And they’re leading with industrial hemp."

Join us for a screening of Patagonia's The Green Buffalo, a film exploring the innovative use of hemp building materials and their role in creating a sustainable future.

Special Guest: Danny Desjarlais of the Lower Sioux Tribe (and star of the film) will lead a Q&A session, sharing insights on sustainability and community impact.
