9/16 Event to Fund Health Care in War-Torn Ethiopian Province
Chef Tigist Reda of Chicago's Demera Ethiopian Restaurant left her home province of Tigray for the U.S. many years ago, but her heart has never left. When Tigray's armed conflict with the Ethiopian government resulted in severe displacement for many — Tigist went a long period without being able to communicate with loved ones — she couldn't just stand by.
That's why in 2021 she launched the first event titled An Evening of Hope. It raised money for Health Professionals Network for Tigray (HPN4Tigray), which provides vital health care services to those in Tigray or living as refugees in Sudan. It was success, so Tigist held another Evening of Hope... and another...and, now another.
This year's fundraiser will be held on the evening of Monday, September 16, at Bronzeville Winery, located at 4420 S. Cottage Grove Ave.

Experience the transformative power of unity and compassion at our annual benefit, "Music & Food For Humanity," presented by Demera Restaurant and HPN4Tigray. Following the resounding success of last year's Arts & Food For Humanity: 3rd Annual Evening of Hope Benefit, where our community came together in an inspiring display of generosity and solidarity, we are thrilled to announce this year's event.
