Please Send Us Details If You're Not on Our List
I recently published a roundup of winter farmers markets in the Chicago region. But these markets aren't the only sources for "off-season" locally produced food, and I want to make sure that we have as comprehensive a list as possible of retail and e-commerce options so our readers know where to find them.
I'm looking for brick-and-mortar stores that are entirely or mostly local; e-commerce outlets for locally produced food, which either ship/deliver to buyers or have drop sites; farmers doing winter CSA subscriptions; and whatever other form winter local takes.
Since extra-regional shipping is involved in some cases, I'm stretching the definition of local a bit.
The following are winter local food sources of which I am aware. If you see your farm or outlet on the list, you don't have to contact me, you're already in. If you aren't on the list but want to be — and who doesn't love free publicity — please reach out to me at bob@localfoodforum.com.
It would be great if you can do so soon, because I want to get this list out quickly.
