SPECIALTY GROWERS INTENSIVE: CUT FLOWER PRODUCTION
Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2
9 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. (both days)
McHenry County College | Room F108
Cost to attend: $345 (scholarships available, see below)
This includes access to multiple instructors, a resource binder, hands on demonstrations, and catered lunches and snacks each day.
If you produce flowers for sale or want to learn more about entering the business, join the Center for Agrarian Learning's two-day intensive workshop on growing and marketing cut flowers. The weekend will feature presentations on starting from seed, transplants, field prep and harvest, as well as on varietal selection, record keeping, market differentiation and design. Participants will also experience hands-on demonstrations on tools and techniques in their high-tunnel growing facilities.
Learn from four expert flower farmers:

Tania Cubberly and Adam Lemieux of Skyfall Flowers
Kristin Burrello of Muddy Feet Flower Farm and Farm Couture Flowers
Jeanie McKewan of Brightflower Barn
The Center for Agrarian Learning's Specialty Growers Intensives are led by multiple farmer-specialists who have trialed different systems over the years and will share both their successes and challenges. This is an excellent way to learn! They will be on-hand all weekend, bringing a rich mix of perspectives.Â
