Non-Profit Advocates for Mothers in Culinary Plans Fundraising Event

The Abundance Setting's 10/7 Celebration Features an All-Star Chef Lineup

The Abundance Setting — the Chicago-based non-profit that advocates fairness and opportunities for mothers working in the culinary industry — has announced its plans for an "It Takes a Village" fundraising celebration.

The event will take place on Monday, October 7 at eden restaurant, located in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood at 2734 W. Roscoe St., from 6:30-9:30 p.m. with a VIP Hour starting at 5:30. The Lactation Network is sponsoring the event.

Despite major societal shifts involving men's roles in parenting, women remain the primary child caregivers in most cases. Many talented women who work in restaurants, which often require working long hours, nights and weekends, find it challenging to balance their family and career responsibilities.

The Abundance Setting, led by women chefs, was created to focus on this issue and promote accommodations that restaurants can make to enable women with children to pursue their career goals.

Here are the details about the October 7 event from the organization:
