Good Food Project in West Suburban Lombard is Under Construction

After a long dry spell, the Chicago region is experiencing a food co-op mini-boom. Last year saw the openings of Food Shed co-op in exurban Woodstock and Wild Onion in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood, as they joined local co-op fixtures The Dill Pickle in Chicago's Logan Square and Sugar Beet in suburban Oak Park.
Two others, Chicago Market in the city's Uptown neighborhood and Prairie Food Co-op in west suburban Lombard, are in advanced stages of development. And in a sign that Prairie — currently under construction — is getting nearer to opening, the store has posted the job of General Manager.

The General Manager will structure the business operation, select vendors and stock the floor, hire and train the staff and introduce the unique concept to the public at large. The General Manager should have the drive, personality, and leadership skills to motivate and encourage staff to provide the appropriate responsive and enjoyable customer environment and be able to address the concerns and needs of a wide group of stakeholders in this enterprise.
