Potluck and Barn Dance to Celebrate Spring and Community

According to its website, Northern Illinois Young Farmers Coalition is "an ecosystem of community leaders who are directly engaged with building a more just, equitable, and sustainable food system. Connection and the Collective are at the center of all the work we do. We aim to strengthen the ties between the farmers, ranchers, land stewards, earthworkers, and local food system allies of northern Illinois."

While the non-profit undertakes the serious business of helping young farmers across Northern Illinois with support, strength and community, it also provide opportunities for relaxation and fun. One of these is coming up on Saturday, May 24 with their Spring Potluck and Barn Dance.

The event will take place at Tiny Tempest Farm in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin (yeah, Wisconsin, but truly a stone's throw from the state line). Here's the fun lineup:

NIYF Potluck: 4:00 p.m., free

We're shedding soup season... bring something spring-inspired to share.

And we'll be sharing updates about NIYF's plans and dreams for 2025.

Barn Dance: 7:00 p.m., $5

Led by caller Dot Kent and dance fiddler Chirps Smith, with Fred Campeau and Mitch (Michelle) Thomas

Co-hosted with Tiny Tempest Farm
