The Abundance Setting Seeks Rising Chefs for Mentoring Program

Chicago Non-Profit Promotes Fairness and Opportunity for Moms in Culinary


The Abundance Setting is a non-profit, built by leading Chicago-area chefs, that promotes well-being and career opportunity for women in the culinary industry who are balancing career and family obligations. 


The centerpiece of the organization is its 3 Chefs 3 Moms program that pairs experienced chefs with younger women chefs who are working to establish their careers. The Abundance Setting is seeking applicants to participate as mentees for its programs in Chicago and in Washington, D.C.

As a mentee, you could be matched with any one of these incredible chefs and restauranteurs for 1 month of food, learning, mentorship, and more this fall. Each recipient receives: 


  • Shadowing in the mentor chef’s kitchen with a coaching session 

  • The opportunity to dine in the restaurant with a guest or your family 

  • One month of farm ingredients provided by a local farmers market to cook for your family 

  • Products from our generous sponsors 

  • A potluck with all mentors and mentees together

Each applicant must share viable references, past three jobs, zip code of residence to ensure they are either in the Chicago or DC area, job title, personal work aspirations, and number of children.
